Skating Apparel

Skating Suits

We offer a wide collection of men's and women's skating clothing. You can buy your skating outfit online or visit our skating store.

What should you wear when skating? When selecting the right gear, consider the following:

Comfort

Skating is dynamic. Tight-fitting pants like tights or salopettes allow full motion, especially in the knees. Made from lycra, they are breathable and comfortable. However, lycra isn’t windproof. On natural ice, thermal underlayers (men, women) with windstoppers are essential. On indoor rinks, lycra suits are sufficient.

Insulation

Warm clothing is crucial. Lycra is great for indoor skating but not windproof. A windstopper jacket is ideal for outdoor use, often featuring windproof material only on the front. Skating jackets for men and women help warm up or withstand cold weather. Thermal base layers by Craft, Hunter, Odlo, and Mizuno are also widely used.

Safety

Skating injuries often come from sharp blades. Brands now offer pants with kevlar to protect shins and ankles. These cut-resistant suits are more expensive but negate the need for separate guards. Gloves and hats are often mandatory and can also be found in cut-resistant versions.

Thermal & Base Layers

Thermal layers are key for warmth and comfort. Though initially expensive, good-quality items like Craft shirts can last years. Various levels exist depending on the temperature.

Marathon Suits

Popular for training and long-distance skating, these fully elastic and warm suits are more flexible than combining a jacket and pants.

Designed for aerodynamics, these suits include hoods and are developed using wind tunnels and high-tech materials.

Skating Pants

Also called salopettes, these are tight pants with suspenders. They are often thermal and padded, and similar to cycling bibs.
