Skate protectors: essential care for your skate blades
It's very important to take good care of your skates, which is why we offer a variety of skate protection for your skates. With these, you can properly protect your skate blades. We have various protectors for skates, including figure skate protectors, ice hockey skate protectors, and klapskate protectors.
Skate protectors vs. skate covers
There are roughly two types: plastic and fabric skate protectors. The first are intended to protect your skate blades when "kluning" (walking on skates); that is, walking on your skates off the ice. Skate covers (fabric) are ideal for storing sharp skates, during transport in your bag, or for summer storage in the attic. A fabric skate cover absorbs moisture, which prevents rust formation on your blade.
Please note: Never store your skates in plastic protectors, as moisture will always remain in these protectors, causing rust to form quickly. After use, dry your skates thoroughly with a towel and then put them in fabric protectors or a skate towel.
